I mulled long and hard over getting this book for Jo for Christmas. In the end I decided against it because I've always had trouble with Chomsky's leaden academic density myself. But guess what I got in my stocking?
So what is the pull of that punky, red anarchy "A"? The promise of some kind of potential shift for humankind away from the endlessly futile democratic tweaks that seem to make the status quo blunder even more firmly towards catastrophe?
I don't know. I can only read about four pages at a time before I start swimming. But I've got a feeling that to be a Barbarian is to be, at some deep level, an Anarchist.
